Morocco in Transition

 // Morocco

Morocco in Transition presents 21 photographs by three Moroccan artists: Khalil Nemmaoui, Laila Hida, and Zineb Andress Arraki. The images investigate the social and environmental transformations experienced in Morocco since the early 20th century.

As with any country or culture, it is impossible to fully capture the essence of Morocco through one perspective. This exhibition features three contemporary photographers who illuminate Morocco’s rich heritage and contemporary culture through its habitats and people. The series explores the country’s dynamic landscape, juxtaposing urban and rural settings, and highlights individual and cultural diversity through candid portraits of Moroccan women. Together, the images depict a country that is continually in transition at the crossroads of ancient and modern cultures.

The exhibition was curated by Nawal Slaoui of Cultures Interface.
